There is growing interest to employ Modular Open System Approaches (MOSA) in development activities to enable faster technology refresh, cost savings/avoidance, and increased interoperability. One method for achieving consistent application of MOSA principles within and across domains is the creation of reference architectures which guide and constrain system development.
