Systems Engineering (SE) has the capacity to bring new insights to areas traditionally considered outside of the SE scope of work, by providing a holistic perspective, elucidating relationships, and clarifying process flows, among other contributions. While government, in its various forms, is widely acknowledged as a type of system, it is less commonly evaluated through a systems lens, especially in disciplines outside of engineering.
