Managing interfaces has been recognised as key to mitigating the risk of project failure and is becoming more prominent in complex infrastructure projects. We review how interfaces in infrastructure projects are traditionally identified, defined, owned, assessed, and managed and provides recommendations on how to better align this with a whole-of-system approach through an assessment of interface criticality.
