IS2025 Sustainability

INCOSE is committed to fostering a more sustainable future, and a tangible step in this direction for the International Symposium is the transition to a fully digital program accessible via our mobile app and virtual platform, significantly reducing paper consumption.

In addition to our paperless program, our events committee has collaborated with the LEED Gold Certified venue, the Roger Centre Ottawa, to implement other sustainable measures, including:

  • Utilizing customizable digital signage and wayfinding towers to reduce the need for printed materials.

  • Reducing food waste and supporting our community through our partnership with La Tablée des Chefs. Surplus food from our events is safely collected and redistributed to the Ottawa Mission as well as other organizations, ensuring that edible food reaches those in need.

  • Prioritizing local, seasonal ingredients to craft menus that not only tantalize the taste buds but also contribute to minimizing the carbon footprint.

  • Transforming food scrap waste into environmentally safe grey water within 24 hours.

  • Providing 100% compostable water glasses, replacing single-use plastic bottles with filtered water dispensers throughout facility.

  • Utilizing eco-friendly housekeeping products.
