Andrew Muxen will be speaking about system decomposition is a fundamental way to deal with system complexity that a model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodology must support. SysML v2 is the next generation systems modeling language that provides significantly improved capabilities over SysML v1 that facilitate system decomposition and other aspects of an MBSE methodology. OOSEM is an MBSE methodology that leverages SysML v1 and is being updated to leverage the new features of SysML v2. This paper describes how SysML v2 modeling patterns can be used by OOSEM and other methodologies to support effective system decomposition.
Also, in this presentation, Sean Desnford will explore the Kernel Modeling Language (KerML) and how to utilize its functions to query a SysML V2 model. Users will learn the basics of KerML functions and how to apply them against a sample architecture to build basic queries. These building blocks are fundamental to the ability to create more complex queries which is the overall objective.
