Maria Thimoteo is the Certification Manager for the INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) Certification Program, where she oversees the end-to-end certification process, including examinations, application workflows, reviews, and certification maintenance. 

She manages the Academic Equivalency (AcEq) Program, working with partner universities to enable students to achieve ASEP (Associate Systems Engineering Professional) certification through approved academic pathways.  

In addition, Maria collaborates with expert reviewers to support the evaluation of CSEP and ESEP applications, ensuring quality and consistency across the program. 

Prior to joining INCOSE, Maria developed a strong background in the educational and cultural sectors, with experience in operations, guest services, and stakeholder engagement. She holds two Master’s degrees, in History and Cultural Heritage Management. 

Maria has lived in four countries and speaks five languages. In her free time, she enjoys digital illustration, writing, and spending time with her dogs, Kiki and Nara.
