Midwest Gateway Chapter Speaker Meeting - Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) with MBSE for System Engineers

When: Nov 10, 2020
Time: 6:30-7:30 PM CST
Registration Link:

Aligned with some of the DoD’s Digital Engineering Strategy objectives, Peter Luckey, a Senior Solutions Consultant at 321 Gang, will introduce a particular way to use MBSE in the context of SAFe. We want to iteratively build a model of the system in order to compose Requirements Specifications and identify the Features to be built in successive (often quarterly) Program Increments (PIs). Models are built in a set of workshops prior to, and during, each PI.

These workshops are face-to-face meetings, primarily for Architects and Systems Engineers, that create a shared understanding of system intent and behavior that can be shared across customers, users, domain experts, product owners and engineering teams- and ideally each of these groups have representation in the workshops. Models record system structure, behavior, and information decisions in SysML using a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach. These models help align the team on a common understanding of, and approach to, building the solution- while discovering and driving work in the agile backlog.
