The NSC is pleased to invite you to an in-depth presentation by Scott Simenson as he share his challenges and triumphs as the directory of a $1.1 million Digital Fabrication lab located just north of St. Paul on the campus of Century College. Mr. Simenson will share his perspective of establishing and maintaining a state of the art lab where it is possible to make almost anything, ranging from small electronic circuits to full-sized boats, and even small modular cabins.
Digital Fabrication Lab, located on Century College’s East campus, is the foundation for the College’s vision and direction, leading to the development of a new degree program: Additive and Digital Manufacturing. The Century College Engineering and Fab Lab – A Center for Makers and Innovators is a $1.1 million dollar, 8500 sq. ft. facility. The Fab Lab and Innovation Center offers a blend of unique technology solutions designed to stimulate learning through the innovative life cycle utilizing new digital fabrication tools and techniques.

Presenter: Scott Simenson
Scott Simenson has over 4 decades of experience developing and teaching courses at the college and university level in applied technology fields. His teaching and research interests are in the areas of information technology, and digital fabrication (Fab Labs). In addition to his academic career, Scott worked as the Information Technology Director for Banta Corporations Digital Group, located in Chanhassen Minnesota. He is the past Vice President, and Education Director of the Minnesota Information Systems Security Association, founding member and a director of the Midwest Fab Lab Network, now the US Fab lab Network. Scott, has been affiliated with the MIT Based Global Fab Lab Network since 2006. He is the past instructor and directors for Century Colleges Information and Telecommunication Technology and the new Additive and Digital Manufacturing degree programs at Century College. Scott currently serves as the Director for the Engineering and Fab Lab at Century College.
