Presentation: A methodology is presented that is optimized for use by constituent system teams to assess the SoS safety risk. It does this by leveraging systems engineering principles to address the lacking aspects of the state-of-the-art risk analysis methods. This results in a more optimal safety risk analysis for all systems and elements involved in the SoS. This method has been applied to several projects over the last few years. The resulting lessons learned, which are also presented, led to a more refined and pragmatic approach. Recommendations of when to use this new method versus the typical methods is also made.
Presenter: Mike Celentano, ESEP, BSEE, has been influencing the Medical Devices sector since 1987.
