Abstract: Risk Management is a tool. If you’re not using it to your advantage, you’re not doing it right. In this presentation Cristie Fadner will explain why risk management is important for everyone (not just managers!), how to apply common sense to your risk analysis, and show some commonalities and differences between PMI and INCOSE risk management processes.

Speakers:
Cristie Fadner is a Deputy Group Leader in the Advanced Systems Development group at LANL. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2000, her Six Sigma Black Belt in 2009, and her PMP in 2015. She has spent more than a decade of her 25-year career bridging Systems Engineering and Project Management. After being thrown into risk management headfirst (kicking and screaming) almost a decade ago, she has learned how to use risk management to the advantage of her programs (and the nation) efficiently and effectively and is happy to share her knowledge with her colleagues, solicited or not. When she is not working, she enjoys forcing mandatory family fun on her two teenagers with her husband and partner-in-fun, who also works at LANL.
