Press Release: INCOSE Announces Strategic Global Partnerships to Drive Systems Engineering Excellence

Jun 4, 2025, 07:57 AM by Janeen Schuh

San Diego, Calif., May 30, 2025 – The International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), a not-for-profit membership organization uniting more than 26,000 systems engineering professionals and Corporate Advisory Board associates across 65+ chapters and 50+ working groups, today announced a series of strategic global partnerships that will accelerate its vision—to unite and advance the global systems community—and further its mission to foster systems engineering knowledge exchange, application, education, and research.

By aligning with industry leaders, academic institutions, and technology innovators, INCOSE will bring its strategic vision to life across the four pillars of its 2024–2028 Strategic Plan: Thought Leadership, Professional Development, Cross-Sector Innovation, and Achieve Operational Excellence. These partnerships will complement INCOSE’s portfolio of state-of-the-artwork products, including the Systems Engineering Handbook, SE Vision 2035, and the SE Journal, while building on the organization’s track record of certifying more than 4,200 practitioners worldwide.

As the American Society of Association Executive, (ASAE) reminds us, “strong partnerships don’t happen by accident. They take intentional planning and need to be continually monitored and evaluated,” and INCOSE has embraced this wisdom by intentionally building alliances that co-create value, enhance member experiences, and secure long-term stability through high retention. In further support of this approach, ASAE membership experts note that “member retention brings long-term stability. It’s built on engagement, value, and connection, and it starts the day a member joins.”

INCOSE’s commitment to global collaboration echoes the United Nations’ call to “enhance the global partnership for sustainable development,” mobilizing multi-stakeholder alliances to share knowledge, expertise, technology, and financial resources in support of the Sustainable Development Goals. Paul Vallee, Managing Director of the BestCities Global Alliance, captures the spirit of these alliances when he says, “We seek out partners to be able to do things we wouldn’t be able to on our own—to expand our skillsets, resources, and offerings. That’s how you create something of value.”

Joining the INCOSE Corporate Advisory Board this year are Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.; Wayne State University; ASE – Advanced Systems Engineering, LLC; RealmOne; BTS Software Solutions; SAFRAN (SystemGie); the University of South Australia (funded by SESA); Florida Institute of Technology; Studio SE, Ltd.; Auburn University; IQNOX; Albers Aerospace; and Ansys Inc. These organizations will play a critical role in shaping the programs, standards, and certification pathways that guide the profession.

Through Thought Leadership, CAB members will work together with INCOSE leadership to engage and enhance the field of systems engineering through their active involvement. In Professional Development, partners will collaborate to integrate emerging methodologies and expand certification pathways within INCOSE’s competency framework, ensuring that members have clear, measurable routes to advance their careers. Cross-Sector Innovation initiatives will convene experts from aerospace, software, healthcare, and sustainability to spark breakthrough thinking and keep member benefits aligned with evolving industry trends. Finally, by pooling expertise and resources, INCOSE and its partners will Achieve Operational Excellence—streamlining program delivery, optimizing event experiences, and continually refining processes to serve the global community more effectively.

“IQNOX is honored to join the INCOSE Corporate Advisory Board, and I’m especially excited to represent IQNOX on the CAB,” said an IQNOX representative. “We’re eager to share the systems engineering insights we gain from our clients and, in turn, bring the best of INCOSE’s thought leadership back to them. We’re particularly excited about advancing the connection between systems engineering, product and application lifecycle management, and strategic business outcomes.”

By expanding its network of global partnerships, INCOSE will deepen its community impact, tailor programs to diverse audiences, and drive innovation that transcends borders—ultimately ensuring collective success and resilience in meeting the world’s most complex engineering challenges.
