Join us for our 13 May 2025 Chapter meeting featuring:

Presenter: Marco Forlingieri

Topic: MBPLE: The Feature-Based Path to Product Lines Success

Abstract: Join us for the presentation as Marco presents a clear and concise guide to MBPLE, with industrial case studies described in his book. Model-Based Product Line Engineering (MBPLE) is the only theoretical and practical foundational book on MBPLE that brings together the topics of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and feature-based product line engineering (PLE). It examines how PLE can benefit from a model-based and model-centric approach and, in turn, how MBSE combined with holistic PLE can boost model reuse and improve the MBSE business case.

The book combines both management and engineering aspects to deliver comprehensive coverage of the subject and real-life challenges and implementations of MBPLE, discussing adoption obstacles faced by engineering organizations and how to overcome them to ensure a successful MBPLE deployment.

Bio:  Marco Forlingieri is Senior Director for PLE Services at PTC, leading worldwide the PLE technical services, with several years of experience in PLE and MBSE domains across Asia, Europe and US. He is also chair of the INCOSE PLE International Working Group and leading author of the book “MBPLE: The Feature-Based Path to Product Lines Success”.

The Wasatch Chapter has been awarded the Silver Circle Award for 2019!
The Wasatch Chapter has been awarded the Silver Circle Award by INCOSE. This recognition is based upon the chapter's contributions and accomplishments in 2019.

The Silver Circle Award recognizes the chapter for performing to the highest goals and standards established by the INCOSE organization. These goals and standards include serving chapter members, interfacing with the local community, offering high quality products and services, promoting systems engineering, and operating above and beyond the INCOSE expectations.

To honor this achievement, the chapter will formally receive the Silver Circle Award during a virtual plenary at the 2020 INCOSE International Symposium. In doing so, INCOSE will recognize and celebrate the contributions and achievements of the Wasatch Chapter, its leaders, and its sponsors.

"I am proud that we are receiving a circle award for the second year in a row," said Paul White, chapter president. "I am humbled to be part of our great leadership team and systems engineering community."

North Texas INCOSE is offering two paper based exam opportunities in September and October 2025. Look for the registration options in the Exam registration pages.

The Gold Circle Award recognizes the chapter for reaching the highest goals and standards established by our organization. Additionally, the chapter is awarded the Director’s Award as the Most Improved Chapter in 2023.

For many, chapters provide the primary day-to-day interface with INCOSE. Chapters organize technical and social programs, communicate key information about our organization and discipline, support technical activities, and enhance the member experience by facilitating an open, inviting environment where members receive valued products and services that enhance their careers. In fulfilling this mission, the chapter leaders and members have committed significant time and energy to further the goals of our organization.
