Welcome to the Southern Maryland Chapter

Founded in February, 1998, the Southern Maryland Chapter follows the INCOSE International Mission, Vision and Goals.

Additionally, we will:

  • Continue our outreach program to support systems engineering conferences and events at both the Regional and International levels of INCOSE
  • Continue to build partnerships with local professional associations offering unique and diverse systems engineering insights while complimenting their inherent interest areas

Kongsberg Systems Engineering Event (KSEE) -- In-person Event

Kongsberg, Norway

The 2022 event is scheduled for Wednesday June 15th 15:00-20:30 and Thursday June 16th 08:30-12:00. There is no admission fee and the conference has a max capacity of 150 seats. Register for free here: https://nettskjema.no/a/254398. For more information visit www.usn.no/ksee

The objectives of the event are:

  • to facilitate cross fertilization and networking between employees of the companies in Kongsberg and wide surroundings in the area of Systems Engineering and with students and teachers at USN/Systems Engineering program and R&D.
  • to create visibility and awareness of Systems Engineering as competence.

The theme of this year is:   How can data help to improve systems?

In recent years, organizations and systems have had a large increase in their data collection capabilities. The digital infrastructure allows for a near infinite storage and analysis of data. Tools and sensors allow capturing of a wide variety of data. How can we use all this data? How can we turn these Terabytes of data into information, and successively use that to gain knowledge? And finally, how do we use the knowledge with wisdom to make decisions in the development process, or in the way we deploy and maintain systems?

We have examples of various domains how they (try to) transform the data into decisions in this age of digitalization, where seemingly everybody talks about AI, learning, clouds, IOT, microservices and many more technologies.
