The Guide to SysML Model of a “Smart Parking Lot” Reference Architecture

Guide to SysML Model of a “Smart Parking Lot” Reference Architecture

The model is developed to provide a reference architecture for developers or independent contractors to build Smart Parking Lots that would work effectively with the other elements of the smart city. For practical purposes, the model chooses the context of the “Pune Smart City” for the “Smart Parking Lot” System. However, the reference architecture should be suitable for any Smart City context provided appropriate adjustments are made. Moreover, the model attempts to describe only the “smart” aspects of the architecture, i.e. aspects needed to enable the smart features envisaged. Systems, such as lighting systems, fire sprinkler systems, pedestrian walkways, etc. would no doubt, be necessary part of any parking lot. In the model, these are referred to collectively as “Rest of the lot” and individual systems are explicitly modeled only if they are relevant to any of the “smart” use cases considered.
