Welcome to the Colorado Front Range Chapter

The INCOSE is a professional society with the mission to foster the definition, understanding, and practice of world-class Systems Engineering in industry, academia, and government.

INCOSE Colorado Front Range is the local INCOSE chapter, covering the entire State of Colorado. Our purpose is to foster the definition, understanding, and practice of world class Systems Engineering in industry, academia, and government within the Colorado Chapter. Our local members represent the aerospace, defense, energy, telecommunications, medical devices, and manufacturing industries, as well as government and academia. We welcome systems engineers from all backgrounds and industries and encourage you to join our our chapter.

Abstract
Systems Thinking for Sustainability - A Proposal for International Cooperation In a world facing complex sustainability challenges, systems thinking emerges as an essential tool. This proposal addresses the need for international cooperation to apply systemic thinking in the pursuit of sustainability. It identifies issues such as missed opportunities, ineffective actions, and a lack of systems thinking skills that hinder change toward sustainability. Key themes include organizational and institutional change, energy transition, promoting scientific vocations, migration and employment management, and education. Emphasis is placed on action, adaptation, and the design of policies and strategies to address complexity effectively. The proposal seeks to guide institutions and governments towards stronger governance and sustainable security. This presentation includes a brief presentation of the Systems Engineering Program of the Autonomous University of Bucaramanga, the Colombian Association of System Dynamics and the System Dynamics Society, as well as the potential for cooperation with INCOSE in realizing the transition to sustainability. 

Speaker:
Jorge Andrick Parra Valencia, Ph.D Doctor in Engineering, Master in Computer Science and Systems Engineer. He has 25 years of experience as a Graduate and Undergraduate Research Professor in Systems Engineering. His areas of action are Computer and Information Sciences, Educational Sciences and Engineering and Technology. His lines of research are Systems Thinking, Systems Thinking and Education, System Dynamics, Social Dilemmas of Cooperation and Modeling and Simulation of Complex Phenomena. President of the Colombian Association of System Dynamics and member of the Latin American Chapter of the System Dynamics Society. Recent Member of INCOSE
