INCOSE Finger Lakes: Working-Group Mini Presentations

Date: 18 September 2025
Time: 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM Eastern

1. Architecture Working Group The purpose of the Architecture Working Group (ArchWG) is to expand the practice of architecture and advance the body of knowledge. This working group facilitates evolution of the practice, focusing on Enterprise, System, Software, and Hardware architectures. It supports collaboration across INCOSE working groups, other engineering disciplines and organizations, and international bodies with a common interest in architecture.

2. Systems Engineering and Law (SELAW) Working Group The SELAW WG's primary goal is the creation and publication of a law design manual based upon systems engineering standards. The law design manual sections and topics shall include the following: Defects and omissions in traditional lawmaking Law design standards based on systems engineering principles, specifically, the IEEE-15288. Models for Sanctions (fine, tax, tariff, subsidy, licensure, etc.).

Feature Title: Innovation Engineering at Tesla – Agility as a Cultural Practice

Presenter: Rick Dove

Abstract: Tesla continues to pioneer innovations in automotive design, manufacturing, and product life cycle practices. Their engineering practice is equally pioneering, and radically unique in the automotive production environment. Though Tesla doesn’t have or recognize an agile systems engineering strategy, their pursuit of continual engineering innovation results in everything an agile systems engineering approach is expected to exhibit and provide. This article summarizes Tesla’s engineering practice, features an instructive graphic depiction of that practice, characterizes that practice as an agile systems engineering operations concept, and suggests how that practice can be employed in completely different system development environments.
